Play Salty Seas in Your Browser
Salty Seas is a free open-world multiplayer pirate game in which players sail, fight and board ships on a shared Caribbean ocean. This link opens the official game client at saltyseas.io/app.

Salty Seas background
Salty Seas is made by Yp3d, the UK-based independent developer behind Redcoats.io, Ships 3D and Tanks 3D, and was released in 2026. Like his other recent games, it is written in TypeScript with three.js rendering to WebGL2 and uses a C++ server.
Where Redcoats.io is built around army battles over forts, Salty Seas focuses on the sea. The official site sets it in a Caribbean inspired by roughly 1700 to 1830, when the Royal Navy, French and Spanish fleets, privateers and pirates contested the same waters, and says hundreds of players share one persistent ocean. It is free and needs no installation; Chromium-based browsers are recommended.
How to play Salty Seas
Every player can take the helm of a ship, watch the wind and swell, and sail alone or with a crew that splits steering and gunnery. The sea is a free-for-all: friends who group up show as friendly, and every other sail is a possible enemy. Cannons fire solid shot at range or grapeshot to sweep a deck up close, and you can either sink a ship or pull alongside and board it, fighting on deck with muskets, pistols, hand cannons and the sabre.
- Open the page in a Chromium-based browser and wait for the client to load.
- Move with WASD, aim with the mouse and fire with left click; switch weapons with 1-5.
- Press F to take the helm, man a cannon or climb; press M to open the map.
- Group up with friends so they are marked as friendly before heading out.
