Dragonkind background

Rebecca Yarros's Fourth Wing, published in 2023, follows cadets at a war college where riders must be chosen by dragons during an event called Threshing. Dragonkind launched in October 2026 alongside Threshing Day, a companion collection of Threshing stories, and was covered by outlets including Parade.

The site is run by Yarros Ink, Inc. Its credits list the story by Rebecca Yarros, the website by Infantree, background art by Andreas Rocha and dragon art by Arancia Studio. Yarros has said there are hidden Easter eggs on the site and that she plans to expand the experience over time.

How to play Dragonkind

After signing in with your email, you are assigned to a wing, section and squad and enter the Threshing Valley. The story moves forward through choices: how you approach a dragon, whether you help a squadmate, which route you take. A run ends either with a dragon choosing you or with you being burned. Yarros has said there is roughly a 10% chance of being incinerated whatever you do, and if you fail you must wait several hours before trying again. Dragon colors and tail types vary between runs.

1. Open dragonkind.com and enter your email address to register as a new candidate, or sign in if you are already a rider.
2. Accept your wing, section and squad assignment and enter the Threshing Valley.
3. Read each scene and choose your actions carefully; the outcome depends on them.
4. If you are burned, wait for the retry timer and attempt Threshing again.
