Zombs Royale background

ZombsRoyale.io was made by End Game, a small studio led by Yang Liu that had previously released browser games including Zombs.io. The game launched in web browsers on 14 March 2018, with iOS and Android versions following in May 2018. Despite the name, it has no zombies; the title comes from the shared engine with Zombs.io.

The game drew little coverage from the gaming press but became one of the most-searched video games in the United States in 2018, and its popularity helped the studio raise funding from investors. The current site footer is credited to Lol Analytics, LLC.

How to play Zombs Royale

Up to 100 players drop onto a map seen from above and race to collect weapons and supplies. Breaking shiny boxes and opening chests gives loot, and higher-quality weapons hit harder. As the match goes on, a closing zone pushes surviving players together, and the last player or team still alive wins. Matches are short, so players typically queue for several in a row.

  1. Open zombsroyale.io in a browser and start a match from the main menu.
  2. Move with W, A, S and D or the arrow keys, and aim and fire with the left mouse button.
  3. Break shiny boxes for loot, and press E to open doors and loot chests.
  4. Stay inside the safe zone as it shrinks and outlast the other players.
