Play SandStorm in Your Browser
SandStorm is a free 2D falling-sand shooter in which every grain of the world is simulated and can be dug, burned, flooded or blown apart. This link opens the official game at sandstorm.ink.

SandStorm background
SandStorm is made by Fosthall Studio and published on its own site, sandstorm.ink. It belongs to the falling-sand tradition of games and toys in which the world is made of individually simulated particles, and combines that with a wave-based shooter.
The developer describes it as being updated most weeks, with new builds announced on the game's Discord. It runs in the browser without a download or an account, is supported by ads and donations, and includes a multiplayer mode where players share one world, either cooperatively or with player-versus-player turned on.
How to play SandStorm
Your job is to hold a stretch of a wide map against waves of enemies that parachute in, land from drop ships or are already dug in. The terrain is made of sand, stone, water, oil, lava, ice, acid, timber and gold, and fire, liquids and acid spread and react with each other. Between waves you mine gold to unlock weapons, rebuild defences or dig a better position. Kills earn levels, and each level offers a choice of three stacking upgrade cards, so runs differ.
- Open the page and click to start; no account is needed.
- Move with A and D, jump with W, and aim and fire with the mouse.
- Change weapons with Q and E, and press H to see all other controls.
- On a phone, drag anywhere on the screen to aim and fire.
